Norman Goldberg Society
In 1960 the University City Symphony Orchestra (UCSO) was founded by a group of individuals dedicated to providing free, classical music concerts to residents of the University City community. Leading this effort was charter president Norman Goldberg, an accomplished clarinetist within the UCSO, as well as a music publisher, educator, composer, conductor and mentor. As the owner of Baton Music, one of the oldest businesses in University City, Norman was a pioneer in the renaissance of The Loop, and a pillar of the community.
As the UCSO celebrates its Golden Anniversary, we feel it is most appropriate to recognize Norman and his many contributions, and therefore invite you to become a Charter Member of the Norman Goldberg UCSO Fund. Your membership will not only honor Norman but also support and sustain the UCSO as we continue to educate and entertain the community for the next fifty years.
Charter membership is open from July 15 - December 31, 2010 and includes the following benefits:
Level one, Green Room, $250, Reserved seating for all concerts and Special listing in program
Level two, Concertmaster, $500 Opportunity to sit on the stage with the musicians during a concert, Reserved seating for all concerts and Special listing in program
Level three, Conductor's level, $1,000 A private dinner with the Maestro, Opportunity to sit on the stage with the musicians during a concert, Reserved seating for all concerts and Special listing in program
While all donations will be accepted during this initial period, it is our hope that we may consider your contribution to be a commitment that you might renew yearly for five years, which will insure that we are able to not just sustain the caliber of performances which you enjoy but also expand our personnel and schedule so that we are able to provide even more musical experiences to the University City and St. Louis communities. Payment may be made by check or credit card. Renewals will be billed annually in June with benefits extended upon receipt of payment. All enrollments will be personally acknowledged and Norman will be provided with a list of all Charter Members.
